Several Texas punk bands were featured in nationally-distributed fanzines, most notably MDC, featured on the cover of Volume 1, Number 1 of Maximum Rock N Roll. Very few locally-recorded punk rock 45s, LPs, and audio cassettes were produced on labels with more than one artist. In most cases bands produced and distributed their own music.
